  1. Take 1 cup tamarind
  2. Make ready 2 cup water
  3. Take 4 tabspoon brown sugar/jaggery 200 gm
  4. Make ready 1 tsp salt
  5. Prepare 1/2 tsp cumin seed/powder
  6. Get 1 tsp ginnger powder
  7. Get 1/2 tsp red chilli powder

Instructions to make TAMARIND SAUCE(sweet and sour sauce):
  1. Add 2 cup water in 1 cup of tamarind.soak for 1 hour.remove seed.save pulp
  2. Add pulp in a pan.add all spices.cook on medium heat for 4 minutes.
  3. In another pan add jagery in 1 cup of water,cook until jagery dessolved completely..make surup.if use brown sugar skip this step
  4. Add jagery surup OR 4 tabsp brown sugar.
  5. Cook on low heat until thick sauce is formed.let it cool.sauce is ready to serve.

Remove the chilis and set aside. Add the rest of the ingredients. Let the sauce simmer for one or two minutes. Remove and serve in a small bowl. The sauce will get thicker as it cools.
