  1. Mix icing sugar,desiccated coconut in the idli batter and miz well
  2. Make sure the batter should not be flowing as of dosa batter
  3. In an appam patra add 5 to 6 drops of oil/butter/ghee as of what you desire in each mould
  4. Add one spoon of batter in each mould
  5. Let it fry for 2 min on medium flame
  6. Turn it appam upside down when you find a brown/golden coating on the corners
  7. Let the other side fry for another 2 mins
  8. Remove on a serving plate
  9. You can just have it….cz it dont require any dip

This instant sweet appam recipe uses wheat flour and jaggery syrup which is easy, quick when compared to the traditional version. Variations : You can either use paniyaram pan or deep fry them. In addition you can add coconut bits or nuts for extra crunch. You can keep in fridge and extend shelf life for. The batter looks as in the image below.
