Buttercream Icing is one of the most well liked of current trending foods on earth. It is simple, it’s quick, it tastes delicious. It’s enjoyed by millions daily. They are fine and they look fantastic. Buttercream Icing is something that I have loved my entire life.

In a large bowl, cream together the butter, shortening, and vanilla. Beat in the milk, and continue mixing until light and fluffy. Keep icing covered until ready to decorate. Cream room temperature butter with a hand mixer, the paddle attachment of a stand mixer, or a wooden spoon until smooth and fluffy.

To get started with this particular recipe, we have to first prepare a few components. You can have buttercream icing using 7 ingredients and 7 steps. Here is how you cook it.

The ingredients needed to make Buttercream Icing:
  1. Get 1 & 1/2 cups butter (at room temperature)
  2. Prepare 1 & 1/2 cups shortening (regular or butter flavored)
  3. Get 6 cups powered sugar
  4. Make ready 6 tbsp heavy whipping cream
  5. Make ready 3 tsp vanilla extract
  6. Make ready 1 tsp almond extract (optional)
  7. Prepare 1/4 tsp salt

If frosting becomes too thin, beat in a small amount. A cooled cooked custard is beaten into whipped butter. Combine all the ingredients in large mixing bowl and mix at slow speed until smooth. If stiffer icing is needed, or if the weather is very warm, add a little extra sugar.

Steps to make Buttercream Icing:
  1. Start by whipping your butter and shorting (electric mixer is a must) mix for at least 5 minutes. You'll be able to tell that it is done when the butter turns white. (The mixing here is crucial!) side note the butter you see here is pure Irish butter, made from grass fed cows. Now, the butter you use does not have to be this brand, just make sure it is a pure, high grade butter.
    Buttercream Icing1. By one cup at a time, SIFT and add your powered sugar. (Sifting your sugar is also very important, to get that super smooth texture) side note Domino brand works well…Ive used off brand sugar multiple times and it just never turns out the same. Key words to look for are PURE CANE SUGAR πŸ˜‰
  2. Once all of your sugar is incorporated, add salt and mix for about 5 minutes.
  3. Add your cream, vanilla, and almond extract. Continue mixing for another 3-5 minutes.
  4. You can also add food coloring at this time! Mix until color is fully blended.
  5. Enjoy!!

Combine all the ingredients in large mixing bowl and mix at slow speed until smooth. If stiffer icing is needed, or if the weather is very warm, add a little extra sugar. I used this buttercream icing for my rainbow cake!! This was the best icing Ive ever tasted!!!! Im not usually a icing fan, but this buttercream icing….
